Our First Fishing Trip

Yesterday after we dropped Jason off at Dwayne's to go to the land the kids and I came home and went for a walk to see the ducks. There were some kids at the pond fishing and Ellie really got into the fish. I told her that night that after Dad got home we would go fishing and that we would get her her very own fishing pole. If she asked me about the fishing pole once she asked me a million times about it today.  So we headed to Wal-Mart and got the kids their very first fishing poles and a pack of $.88 hot dogs.  We headed to the pond right near our house about 6:45 this evening. Once we got the poles ready and the hooks were baited with hot dogs we were ready to toss them in. It was great!!! Right when we tossed them in we got bites. I bet we caught 20 little perch tonight. It was a lot of fun. Ellie was really into the fishing and believe it or not all Walker wanted to do was eat the hot dogs. He quickly realized they were not any good and went on his way. He mainly walked all over the place. I was hoping this would hold his interest more than it did but it sure didn't. After the first fish was caught he was done.  And of course it wouldn't be a great fishing trip unless someone fell in the water!!! Ellie fell in at the very end but after she quit crying she wanted to continue to fish. She was a muddy mess but I think she really had a good time.

My pictures are all out of order. As I was loading them I realized how I need to do it to get them in the right order but it's late so this is as good as it is going to get.

This was at the very end after Ellie had fallen in the water.

Look how muddy she got. Poor thing!!

We had one fish on that broke the line on her princess pole so at this point we were fishing with Walker's Spiderman pole!
This is what Walker wanted to do most of the night.

Lost Pines

We just recently got back from a very relaxing vacation to the Lost Pines Resort, just right outside of Austin. We had a very good time and would love to go back in the years to come.  They had a great pool that had a lazy river that went all around the pool. Walker loved it so much and was able to get so comfortable in it that he fell asleep twice in my arms on the river. It was pretty awesome. Ellie was able to wear her puddle jumper and swim "alone" in the river. She had a great time and that was the first thing she asked to do when we got up in the morning. "I swim in river, I swim in river!!"  Jason played golf two days and I was able to relax at the spa one afternoon. It was a very fun family vacation!  I unfortunately don't have many photos from the trip.  We had the camera, we just never thought to take pictures. So here is what I have....

Ellie on the lawn during movie time. I am not sure if she is eating chips or popcorn. Every night they had a movie on the lawn and you were able to make Smores from 7-9 PM. It was heaven.
This is Walker dancing. It was the funniest thing ever. He is also covered in chocolate because he just inhaled a Smore.
On the lawn during movie time.
This was an activity for the smaller kids. It was called Bubble Finder. They all got a plate with cherries and whipped cream on it and they were supposed to find the cherries on the plate without using their hands.
About the start the Bubble finder game.
In our hotel.

The many faces of Ellie Bug!!!

When we were in Indiana, Aunt Judy took some great pictures of the kiddos. I thought these different faces of Ellie were really good. I asked her to make a scary face, a fish face and a monkey face and this is what we got. Also, I haven't quite figured out what exactly to do with her hair. The back is super curly and the front is getting a little straighter every month. I usually pull it back in a ponytail and put a bow in it but this day I just let it be natural. She will hate this curly hair someday and I am sure I will be buying a straighting iron for her when she gets older.

Ellie and the crazy hair with a great smile!
Jason yelled "touchdown" and this is what we got!

This is Ellie's scary face!

Monkey Face!

Another monkey face!

Our Looooong trip to Indiana

Where to begin....About a week ago we ventured off to the wonderful state of Indiana. This time were drove the 16 hours instead of flying. Oh my my.... Jason called me on Thursday and said what do you think about leaving tonight when I get home from work? Of course I hadn't packed anyone and I still had a few loads of laundry to get done. So I rushed home and packed everyone with the help of Shannon and finished up the laundry. I packed in a hurry and just had to be OK with forgetting something. I knew the only things I really needed was Ellie and Walker's blankets. If we forgot everything else that was fine as long as we had those blankets. So we headed out of town at 6:00PM. I thought when it got near their bed times we could put their car seats in the third seat of the Tahoe, fold the second seat up and then make them a pallet to sleep on so they were not sleeping in their car seats. I know that is extremely unsafe but I am pretty sure no one reading this blog was ever in a car seat that long when you were a kid. So anyways, they wanted nothing to do with the sleeping area and thought it was fun to walk around. That obviously was not going to work. They ended up getting into each other's car seats and falling asleep. We made it to Memphis our first night and stayed the night. We realized when we got to the hotel our kids were like "hey! we just had a 4 hour nap!" So it took a us about an hour to get them back to sleep once we got into the hotel. We were up bright and early the next morning and on our way to Indiana. This part of the drive was about 7 hours. We let them out of their car seats again at one point during this part of the trip and it ended up not being good. Ellie got car sick and threw up all over Jason and herself. At this point Walker decided he wanted none of this so he climbs up in his car seat and stands in it backwards!! Jason is trying to tell me to pull over quickly but softly because Walker is standing up in his car seat backwards! It was a mess!! After we pulled over and got everyone cleaned up, the kids got in their car seats and were on a strict clear liquid diet until we got to Jason's parents house. Once we got to Indiana we were all good to go. Everyone was so glad to be out of the Tahoe!

We were very busy when we finally did arrive in Indiana. Jason's dad is one of eight kids and a majority of them still live in and around Corydon, IN. So we had a ton of people to visit. Jason had his 15 year high school reunion on Saturday and then we planned to go to Holiday World on Monday. BTW Holiday World is in Santa Claus, IN. We had a great time at Holiday World. Ellie had a blast! She loved all the rides. Walker didn't really care either way. He rode the marry-go -round a few times but anything that he had to ride by himself he was not into. He cried every time I strapped him in and left him. So I would get him out and we would watch Ellie ride all the rides.

Aunt Judy took some great photos of the kids when we were there. 259 great photos to be exact!!! I am obviously not uploaded all of them but have uploaded some of my most favorite.

The trip home was once again long. Jason dropped me and the kids off in Oklahoma City for my cousin Adam's baby shower then he went home. We rode home with my sister on Sunday and was really excited to get home and to sleep in our own beds. The kids I think would like to set fire to their car seats and I think if they never got in the Tahoe again they would be just fine with that.

We had a really great time in Indiana and Oklahoma and I was glad everyone finally got to meet Walker.

There are a ton of pictures next to so get ready!!!
